Job summary

eagle Controls is seeking an experienced Building Automation / Controls Estimator to lead pre-construction estimating efforts for commercial and industrial HVAC control systems in our St. Louis, MO office.

The role focuses on takeoffs, cost estimation, and delivering detailed proposals from project initiation through commissioning. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in estimating Building Automation/Controls projects, proficiency with Distech Controls, Tridium/Niagara, or Delta Controls, and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience estimating Building Automation / Controls projects.
• Experience with at least one major controls platform, such as Distech Controls, Tridium/Niagara, or Delta Controls.
• Strong understanding of BACnet systems architecture, network topology, panel design, sequence of operations, and HVAC equipment control strategies.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical construction drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, detailed proposals.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed takeoffs from construction drawings, specifications, and control diagrams.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for building automation systems including controllers, field devices, panels, integration, graphics, programming, and commissioning labor.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor installation labor quotes.
• Prepare clear, detailed proposals outlining scope of work, quantities, inclusions/exclusions, and trade responsibilities.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and coordination issues prior to bid submission.
