The Building People is seeking a Senior Building Automation Specialist to lead and optimize BAS systems for federal and commercial facilities. The role emphasizes Niagara integration, hands-on troubleshooting, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with engineers, vendors, and facility managers.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive BAS hardware/software knowledge, HVAC expertise, and a track record of improving building performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with multiple brands of Building Automation Hardware and Software.
• 5 years Niagara integration experience.
• 5 years troubleshooting and diagnostics of control systems.
• Experience on US Federal Properties, Projects, and systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical control signals to verify operations.
• Troubleshooting programming via control software to verify proper operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring BAS components for HVAC, plumbing, electricity, computer networking, lighting, and security.
• Collaborating with building managers, tenants, and visitors to ensure safety and comfort.
• Working with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to maintain or expand BAS features.
• Collaborating with BAS vendors and solutions to use data to improve building performance or reduce operating costs.
• Performing preventative maintenance and commissioning tests on complete automation systems.
• Making recommendations for systems upgrades and efficiency improvements.
