Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Building Automation Design Engineer to create unique design solutions for commercial building automation systems in new and existing facilities. This role supports education facilities, data centers, hospitals, and labs, with hybrid work options and occasional site visits.

You will prepare detailed design documents, analyze requirements, and ensure project success through collaboration with engineering teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building automation (HVAC controls) design.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.
• Experience designing large and complex projects with standard tools and practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and business operations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for facilities including higher education, data centers, hospitals, and labs.
• Support meetings with internal/external stakeholders and contribute technical details to designs.
• Prepare design documents: mechanical layouts, electrical drawings, system integration, BOMs, sequences of operations.
• Design network architecture to support workstations, DDC panels, and third‑party devices via Modbus, Desigo, or BACnet.
• Analyze plans, specs, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.
• Perform quality assurance and peer review of engineering documents.
