Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies in the U.S. is seeking a seasoned Building Automation Engineer to own BAS submittals and system designs for complex HVAC and industrial control projects.

You will interpret specifications, select equipment, and develop BOMs while coordinating with project managers to resolve RFIs and design issues. The role emphasizes AutoCAD/Visio proficiency, BAS knowledge across BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks, and strong collaboration with sales, engineering, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering; 8+ years in building automation.
• 4+ years in building automation controls or BAS management systems.
• 4+ years producing BAS submittals in any BAS platform.
• 4+ years experience with AutoCAD and/or Visio.
• 2+ years designing HVAC control systems, including SOO development.
• 2+ years experience generating RFIs to resolve design issues.
• Proficiency with layout drawings to guide system installation.
• Experience interacting with consulting engineers, contractors and building owners.
• Experience developing Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Mastery of M&E plan interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Design Industrial Building Automation Controls projects meeting scope and budget.
• Provide AutoCAD/Visio design labor and direction for submittals and documents.
• Develop BAS submittal packages with riser diagrams and network architecture.
• Interpret project documents to select equipment for scope of work.
• Complete Sequences of Operations and assess if they meet system requirements.
• Forecast labor for complete project design and track against budget.
• Support ongoing service engineering for existing building systems.
• Suggest new products for better functionality and value.
