Job summary

Hoffman Building Technologies seeks a Controls Technician to install, configure, and program building automation systems across multiple platforms in the NJ region. You’ll monitor performance using SCADA tools and troubleshoot PLCs and automation software to maximize uptime.

This role requires hands-on PLC experience, Python scripts, and SQL database proficiency. Expect close collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and IT teams, plus up to 75% travel to job sites to support projects.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in building automation or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming software listed in tools.
• Proficiency in SCADA systems such as Tridium, Ignition, VT SCADA, Wonderware, Distech GFX, ICONICS.
• Experience with Python for scripting and automation.
• Proficient with SQL for database management and reporting.
• Strong understanding of building systems within the HVAC industry.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex system integration and programming issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams.
• Certifications in relevant automation platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Tridium) is a plus.

Responsibilities
