Job summary

HoffmanBuilding Technologies seeks a skilled Controls Technician to install, program, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain building automation systems. You will work with PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, RSLogix) and SCADA tools (Tridium, Ignition, VT SCADA, Wonderware) to optimize operations and energy savings.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years in building automation, strong PLC and SCADA experience, and proficiency in Python and SQL for data tasks.

Qualifications

1–5 years of experience in building automation or a related field.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, RSLogix).
Proficiency with SCADA platforms (Tridium, Ignition, VT SCADA, Wonderware, ICONICS).
Experience with Python scripting and SQL for data handling.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and program building automation systems using multiple PLC environments.
Monitor and optimize building performance via SCADA platforms.
Troubleshoot PLCs, controllers, and automation software to minimize downtime.
Program, analyze, and optimize SQL databases to support BAS data collection and reporting.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and IT teams on automation strategies.
Perform preventive maintenance and system checks to ensure reliability.
Maintain detailed documentation for programming configurations and procedures.
Up to 75% travel to job sites is expected.
