Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle seeks a Senior Build & Release Engineer to own the end-to-end development velocity for the TeraWave project. You will design a hermetic, automated source-to-production pipeline spanning firmware on satellites to cloud microservices, enabling daily releases.

The role demands 7+ years in embedded and cloud release engineering, with deep Bazel expertise and strong tooling in CMake/Ninja, Docker, Kubernetes, and Go modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in build/release engineering, DevOps, or SRE with embedded/firmware and distributed cloud services.
• Expert-level proficiency in Bazel; deep knowledge of CMake/Ninja and build tools like Gradle/Maven/Go Modules.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a single, integrated build system (Bazel-centric) for firmware, services, and cloud workloads.
• Implement hermetic, reproducible pipelines across CI/CD environments.
• Manage cross-compilation toolchains for embedded targets and runtime environments for cloud services.
• Design and scale highly concurrent containerized CI/CD pipelines and integrate HIL simulations.
• Automate containerization and deployment strategies for microservices and OTA workflows.
• Oversee monorepo structure to separate firmware, middleware, and cloud service code.
