Job summary

Hadrian is seeking a Build Engineer, Large Scale Machining to own how our largest machined parts are made—from design review through qualification and ramp to production. You will define the build flow, specify machining processes, and bridge product requirements to Capability Engineering.

You’ll own new product and process introductions for large machined parts end-to-end, ensuring datum schemes, tooling, and inspection plans are in place.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of build/manufacturing/production engineering with direct ownership of large machined parts (roughly 2 m and up) from requirements through production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience interpreting and defining product requirements from customer specifications, drawings, and contract quality clauses, and translating them into build requirements.
• Strong GD&T and tolerance-stack skills across multi-setup parts, with a proven datum strategy.
• Working knowledge of large-format machining equipment and large-part metrology; able to drive DFM and build flow.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and define product requirements from customer specifications, drawings, and contract requirements, translating them into machining requirements and inspection needs.
• Reverse engineer parts and assemblies where data is incomplete to establish design intent and build sequence.
• Review models and drawings for machinability at scale and drive changes before design freeze.
• Own the end-to-end machining route from rough to inspection, including handoffs to weld and assembly.
• Define the high-level process for each operation and hand to Capability Engineering complete and on time.
• Build and maintain BOM structures, work orders, and work instructions in Hadrian’s PLM, ERP, and MES systems.
