Job summary

Hadrian is hiring a Manager, Build Engineering – Commodities to lead build engineering across machining, tube and pipe, and sheet metal. You will own end-to-end NPI for these commodities, define processes, and drive execution with cross-functional teams to hit rate and quality targets.

You will hire and coach Build Engineers, validate first articles at a current factory, then scale to the new Cherokee, AL site, staying close to the floor for critical decisions.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in build, production, or manufacturing engineering.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing a team of engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Hands-on depth in machining, tube and pipe, or sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong ability to interpret and define product requirements from customer specifications and drawings.
• Experience structuring BOMs, work orders, and work instructions in PLM/ERP/MES systems.
• Demonstrated cross-functional coordination能力 to deliver complex builds.
• Ability to make sound decisions under schedule pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of Build Engineers across three disciplines and own hiring decisions.
• Own commodity-level NPI outcomes from requirements through first article to production ramp.
• Interpret product requirements from customer specs, drawings, and contracts before builds.
• Set a common standard for build plans, high-level processes, and work instructions across commodities.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Capability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Test.
• Escalate and resolve commodity build issues in real time; transfer to production cells.
• Represent the commodities team in program reviews and leadership updates.
