Job summary

Office of the Governor in Austin, Texas seeks three Budget and Policy Advisors (Governor’s Advisor III-IV) to join the Policy Division. You will perform highly complex program research, analysis, and budget work to support the Governor’s priorities.

You’ll prepare briefs and reports for executives and the Legislature, monitor legislation, and provide policy guidance. The monthly salary ranges from $9,166.67 to $11,666.67, with annualized equivalent of about $110k–$140k.

Qualifications

• Experience in state or local public service, including budgeting or policy.
• Ability to analyze complex legislation and prepare briefs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and policy presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees research and preparation of analyses of state agency budgets and proposed revisions.
• Researches and proposes fiscal and regulatory policy issues.
• Reads and analyzes legislation and monitors implementation of major laws.
• Provides budget and policy advice to the Governor and executive team.
