Job summary

Utah Tech University is seeking a Budget/Planning Analyst to support complex budget projects. You’ll review budgets, input transactions, and guide campus staff on procedures. The role advances institutional budgeting and requires collaboration with HR and Business Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required; a Master’s is preferred.
• At least four years of budget/financial experience; higher education budget experience preferred.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills; Banner Finance experience is a plus.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial data accurately and timely.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; maintain confidentiality in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor departmental and institutional budgets.
• Review and input budget transactions.
• Provide training and guidance to campus personnel about the budget process and procedures.
• Assist in preparing and submitting state and institutional budget reports.
• Prepare analyses and ad-hoc studies to support budget processes and transparency.
• Coordinate budget procedures with HR and Business Services (Payroll, Purchasing, Accounting).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
