Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as specified.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative and budgeting experience; including at least one (1) year in the lead/supervisory role.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered; however, there is no substitution for the required supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the budgeting and administration functions for the Fire/EMS Department to ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Lead budgetary analyses projects and provide guidance to department heads and managers.
• Prepare and present budget submissions and financial analyses to senior leadership and Council members.
• Monitor operating and capital budgets; identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Represent the department in meetings with other agencies and stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business/Public Management, Finance, Economics, Quantitative Analyses, or closely related field
