Job summary

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is seeking a Budget Analyst Senior in the Business & Finance Unit to manage the agency's financial resources, including federal funding and cash flow. This role reports to the Budget Manager and supports strategic financial planning and reporting.

Responsibilities include financial planning and forecasting, fund health assessment, budgetary oversight, and data reporting to executives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of government accounting and budgeting principles.
• Experience with Federal funding and state appropriations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and statute compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Executive Budget Request development and timely submissions.
• Forecast revenue, monitor spending, and advise program managers.
• Prepare cash flow reports and reconcile spending plans.
• Analyze data for OSBP/JLBC inquiries and legislative support.
• Provide high-level budget support to staff and leadership.
