Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) seeks an Administrative Services Officer 2 to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for the Business & Finance Unit in Arizona. The role supports program management with rigorous forecasting, financial health assessments, and data-driven analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in personnel, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, data processing or related administrative services.
• Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate complex financial data.
• Strong written and verbal communication with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning and Forecasting: Oversee financial planning, monitoring, and analysis including revenue forecasting and expenditure projections with program management.
• Fund Health Assessment: Use revenue and expenditure forecasts to determine cash balances and assess overall financial health of agency funds.
• Reporting and Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and perform financial and statistical analysis to support reporting for all management levels.
• Legislative Support: Monitor bills impacting the agency and provide impact analyses and implementation support.
• Collaborative Support: Confer with Section Managers and Division Directors to address budgetary and federal funding requirements and provide high-level customer service.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile annual spending plans for federal awards and state funds at the agency fund level.
