Job summary

State of Wisconsin’s Division of Executive Budget and Finance (DEBF), State Controller’s Office, located in Madison, WI, seeks an Accountant Senior to ensure accurate and timely budget entry, monitor transactions, reconcile appropriations, and prepare financial statements for the AFR.

This role requires experience with complex accounting systems and will operate from the office most of the week with some remote work options.

Qualifications

• Completed a four-year or advanced degree with a major in Accounting or commensurate work experience.
• Experience performing professional accounting or budgetary duties such as processing transactions and reconciliations.
• Experience using a complex accounting/financial management system such as PeopleSoft or similar.

Responsibilities

• Load and monitor budget transactions; prepare financial statements and schedules.
• Serve as subject matter expert for commitment control and AFR preparation.
• Compile complex financial statements for the Annual Fiscal Report (AFR).
