Job summary

Chartwell Midwest in Middleton, WI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the monthly and year-to-date financial reporting, audits, budgets, payroll, and accounts payable. The role acts as a back-up to the Controller and collaborates across finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The candidate will work with general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets systems, participate in the annual audit, and help optimize processes for efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years recent experience in Accounting and Finance.
• Experience with month end close and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month end close process.
• Utilize financial accounting systems for general ledger, AP, AR, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Serve as the AP system administrator.
• Review daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
• Recommend process improvements for efficiency and consistency.
• Assist with annual audit, tax return, and budget.
• Approve ACH payments to cover department absences.
• Interact with UW and UWHCD employees as needed.
• Complete external surveys as requested.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as requested.

Position Summary

Assists with the preparation of monthly and year to date financial reports and ensures their accuracy. Assists with annual audit, budget, payroll, and accounts payable. Serves as the backup to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Assists with month end close process
• Utilizes financial accounting systems including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets
• Accounts payable system administrator
• Reviews daily/monthly bank reconciliation
• Reviews policies and procedures to increase efficiency and consistency
• Recommends changes to process if appropriate
• Reconciles business insurance
• Assists with annual audit
• Assists with annual tax return
• Assists with annual budget
• Approves ACH payments to cover department absences
• Interacts and assists related parties (UW) and UWHCD employees when necessary
• Completes external surveys as requested
• Other Accounting and Finance duties as requested

Experience and Education
