Job summary

Hacienda La Puente Unified School District seeks a skilled Budget Analyst to support district budget development, control and analysis, and review of revenues and expenses for categorical programs and bond projects. Under supervision, you will perform complex accounting tasks and prepare financial reports.

You will work with district staff, county and state offices, and auditors to ensure accurate accounting, timely reconciliations, and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

Three years of experience in budget and/or fiscal record keeping and reporting.
Experience with manual, machine, and computer accounting systems.
Proficiency with PeopleSoft, Excel, and Word.
Knowledge of budgeting methods and financial reporting.
Ability to establish cooperative relationships and work under deadlines.
Understanding of accounting system interfaces and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Makes complex arithmetical calculations and verifies computations.
Assembles, tabulates, checks, and files accounting data in the budget area.
Prepares trial balance and financial statements.
Balances accounts and provides reconcilations.
Trains others on District computer software applications.
Works with district and county offices to facilitate information exchange.
