The Budget Analyst handles budget operations with a focus on revenue enhancement and resource utilization, while the Sr. Budget Analyst oversees the process and advances forecasting, allocations, and internal controls. Both tracks require strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with government budget preparation and analysis.
• Proficient in MS Office and budgeting/third-party reporting software.
• Ability to learn and implement budgeting systems and forecasting models.

Responsibilities

• Assist departments with automated budget system operations.
• Analyze budgets year-round and provide recommendations for revenue enhancement and allocation efficiency.
• Research and analyze major funds within the City’s Annual Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program.
• Reconcile audit to budget reporting and develop variance analyses.
