Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered global broker-dealer infrastructure leader, seeks a Senior Brokerage Operations Associate (Canada). You convert CIRO-aligned dealer/clearing/custody realities into scalable, automated workflows for Product and Engineering, with crisp documentation guiding decisions.

You’ll own account lifecycle, custody and asset servicing, books & records, and Canadian tax ops (TFSA/RRSP/RESP). You’ll build day-2 runbooks, vendor interfaces, and recovery playbooks, focusing on

Qualifications

10+ years hands-on Canadian brokerage operations at a CIRO dealer or custodian.
Deep knowledge of clearing, settlement, custody, CDS/CDSX, and tax workflows.
Automation-focused with experience building AI-assisted ops; strong documentation.
Exceptional written communication for SOPs, logs, and cross-functional specs.

Responsibilities

Own account lifecycle and onboarding handoffs with KYC/AML interfaces.
Manage custody, asset servicing, and books, records, and reconciliations.
Oversee tax ops, wrappers (TFSA, RRSP, RESP), and related reporting.
Define day-2 production runbooks, vendor interfaces, and disaster recovery playbooks.
Create clear SOPs and decision logs for Product, Eng, and Ops to execute.
