Job summary

WAMC seeks a Senior Broadcast Transmission Engineer to keep the station's transmission systems running, troubleshoot and repair transmitters, antennas, and RF gear to ensure on-air reliability. This role serves as Chief Operator, conducts routine checks, logs readings, and maintains FCC parameter accuracy.

You will supervise board operators, train staff, cover shifts, and handle scheduling and performance issues on the ground while coordinating tower maintenance and planning upgrades as systems

Qualifications

• Proficiency in designing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing broadcast audio, and FM transmission automation and control systems.
• Ability to understand schematics, flow charts and technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair broadcast equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot transmission systems to ensure reliable on-air operation.
• Supervise board operators, train on procedures, and manage shifts scheduling.
• Coordinate tower/site maintenance and plan equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
