Job summary

Vyve Broadband is seeking a Broadband Network Technician (BT IV–V) to lead and perform advanced field diagnostics, repair, and optimization of the HFC network across neighborhoods. You will mentor junior technicians, coordinate outage restoration, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining system maps and logs.

The role demands outdoor work in all weather, coordination with dispatch, and a focus on uptime.

Qualifications

• BT IV certification or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ months as Broadband Technician III or equivalent field network experience.
• Ability to splice coax and fiber optic cable.
• Proficiency with signal meters, spectrum analyzers, OTDRs, volt-ohm meters, and leak detectors.
• Strong understanding of HFC and IP networks.
• Experience reading and interpreting system maps and schematics.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather, on ladders, in confined spaces, and during on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of the HFC network (RF, AC, DC, optical).
• Optimize network performance via node balancing, alignment, and calibration.
• Monitor and mitigate signal leakage; comply with FCC/local regulations.
• Maintain documentation and perform scheduled maintenance on standby power supplies.
• Lead or mentor lower-tier technicians (BT I–III).
• Support outage restoration with clear comms to teams and dispatch.
• Maintain and operate company vehicle and equipment.
• Record and submit job logs using mobile devices or work orders.
