Job summary

Vyve Broadband is seeking a Broadband Network Technician (BT IV-V) to lead field diagnostics, repair, and optimization of the HFC network. You will mentor junior techs, restore service during outages, and proactively maintain plant equipment, ensuring uptime and quality customer experience.

The role requires BT IV certification or equivalent, hands-on fiber/coax skills, and comfort working outdoors, with on-call rotations and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BT IV certification or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ months as Broadband Technician III or equivalent field experience.
• Ability to splice coax and fiber optic cable.
• Strong understanding of HFC and IP networks.
• Experience reading system maps and schematics.
• Willingness to work outdoors, on ladders, in confined spaces, and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of the HFC network including RF, AC, DC, and optical systems.
• Optimize network performance through node balancing, alignment, and signal calibration.
• Monitor and mitigate signal leakage, ensuring FCC and local regulatory compliance.
• Maintain documentation and perform scheduled maintenance on standby power supplies.
• Lead or mentor lower-tier technicians on field practices and customer service.
• Support outage restoration with clear communications to teams and dispatch.
• Maintain and safely operate a company vehicle and equipment.
• Record and submit job logs and documentation using mobile devices or work order systems.
