Job summary

HDR seeks a Bridges and Structures Section Manager to lead and grow our structures team in Mechanicsburg, PA. You will manage staff, deliver project submissions, mentor, drive profitability, and ensure quality on large infrastructure projects.

You will serve as Project Manager or Project Engineer, participate in business development, cultivate client relations, and coordinate with leadership to balance workloads and pursue opportunities. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of bridge/structural design experience.
• Professional registration/license may be required for the role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; able to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Area Section Managers to balance workloads and identify opportunities.
• Lead multi-discipline transportation design teams as Project Manager or Project Engineer.
• Perform technical design for bridges and bridge load ratings; check others’ work.
• Drive business development and client management in mechanicsburg area; support marketing planning.
• Mentor staff and act as engineering technical lead with project delivery oversight.
• Develop proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects.
• Ensure quality control and successful delivery of large infrastructure projects.
