Job summary

VHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager in Bedford, NH, hybrid work style. The role leads planning, analysis, design, and detailing of major bridge and transportation projects, while mentoring technical staff and managing clients.

Ideal candidates bring 11+ years in structural engineering and a PE license, with strong knowledge of MassDOT standards and bridge design. This position offers growth within a collaborative, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• 11+ years' experience required.
• PE license required.
• Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans.
• Independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manages structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design for bridge/ transportation projects
• Prepares proposals and contracts; participates in project decisions on technical approach, costs, scheduling
• Maintains client relationships, visibility, and business development
• Directs and mentors team members in design plans, technical oversight, specifications, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages
• Project management and task management
• Reviews plans, specs, reports to meet scope, schedule, cost, quality
