Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. in CT or NJ is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to lead bridge and transportation infrastructure design and analysis. The role requires coordination with multi-disciplinary teams and adherence to CTDOT/NJDOT/NYSDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred
• 5-10 years of structural design experience including bridge design and load rating analysis
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD, CSiBridge) and CAD (AutoCAD, MicroStation)
• Experience with CTDOT, NJDOT, or NYSDOT design standards preferred
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, AREMA, and other applicable codes
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, detailed, and code-compliant work

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of structural components and systems for bridges and transportation infrastructure
• Conduct complex load rating analysis and structural evaluations
• Prepare contract drawings, specifications, and detailed engineering calculations
• Perform site inspections and assessments for new and rehabilitative design
• Coordinate design efforts with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Review project plans for compliance with applicable standards and specifications
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project phases
