Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation is seeking a Civil Engineer L3 to serve as a Project Manager for bridge capital design projects. You will direct all functions during the design phase, supervise staff, review consultant submissions, and coordinate with NYSDOT, FHWA, and others.

The role requires a NY PE license, four years of civil engineering experience, and the ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar bridge projects with procurement and regulatory oversight.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Current New York State PE license and maintenance during employment.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design phase for bridge reconstruction/rehabilitation projects.
• Supervise engineers and clerical staff; coordinate with agencies.
• Review consultant submissions: plans, specs, cost estimates, env docs.
• Develop construction documents and assist procurement.
• Manage project schedules and funding sufficiency.
