Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector to lead statewide NBIS, DOT and AASHTO inspections in the new South Carolina practice. You will mentor junior inspectors, set inspection plans, manage budgets, and maintain client touchpoints across highway, rail, and ancillary structures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in bridge inspection, structural assessment or engineering.
• Deep knowledge of DOT regulations and bridge-management systems.
• Leadership experience guiding field teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead an inspection crew performing NBIS, DOT and AASHTO work statewide and coach junior inspectors.
• Set schedules, manage budgets and handle client touchpoints for highway, rail and ancillary structures.
• Use drones, lidar, ultrasonic and other non-destructive tools to identify issues before they escalate.
• Deliver element-level and fracture-critical inspections that keep communities moving safely.
