Position Overview

HDR is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector to join our South Carolina team. This role can be based out of Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Fort Mill. The Senior Bridge Inspector will perform bridge inspections and some office engineering tasks such as rating, rehab/repair design, and CADD. Responsibilities include conducting bridge inspections, preparing reports per NBIS standards, and assisting in inspection program management and guidance document preparation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct bridge inspections and act as the site lead
2. Review and comment on inspection reports
3. Mentor junior staff and supervise as needed
4. Perform additional duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in civil engineering or related field
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Willingness to collaborate across disciplines during inspection downtime
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and ability to travel including overnight stays
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Physical ability to perform field inspections of various structures and work in environmental hazards
• Local candidates preferred
