Job summary

Curtis Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Virginia to lead bridge and heavy civil construction projects from planning through closeout.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and change orders while coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and public agencies to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with specifications. The role requires a strong background in bridge construction, 5–10+ years of relevant experience, and proven DOT project delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5–10+ years of experience in heavy civil and bridge project management.
• Proven track record delivering VDOT or DOT-related infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts (VDOT specs preferred), scheduling software, and cost tracking tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage bridge and heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost control procedures.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure efficient communication and execution.
• Oversee contract administration and change order management.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to field personnel and subcontractors.
• Work closely with DOT and public agency stakeholders to maintain project alignment and quality.
