Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an initiative-taking Senior Bridge Engineer to join our transportation practice. The role involves designing new bridges and rehabilitating existing ones, with emphasis on inspection, load rating, and design oversight.

You will collaborate with engineers and project managers, supervise staff, and ensure QA/QC across calculations and drawings. A PE is required, with 10+ years in bridge design and related software proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of Bridge Design, Bridge Rehabilitation Design, Inspection, and Load Rating experience.
• Professional Engineer certification (P.E.) is required.
• Experience with MDX, MIDAS, LUSAS, AASHTO Ware, Bentley Bridge Design Software (Open Bridge and LEAP), LARSA is preferred.
• Experience using computer aided engineering and design software.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the design of new bridges and bridges to be rehabilitated.
• Produces project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Involved in inspection/load-rating/design, site visits, shop drawing review, and can work independently.
• Produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple projects.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
• Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff.
• Provide QA/QC on design calculations, plans, inspection reports, load rating calculations.
