Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Bridge Engineer and Task Leader in Salt Lake City to lead bridge design deliverables, manage projects, and mentor a team of engineers. PE licensure in Utah or the ability to obtain within a year is expected.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, adherence to AASHTO LRFD and DOT standards, and active client engagement for successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 12+ years of bridge/structural engineering experience.
• Licensed PE in Utah or ability to obtain within one year.
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD and DOT design standards.
• Experience leading a bridge/structural engineering team.
• Mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Strong communication and teamwork across multiple offices and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of bridge design deliverables including reports, calculations, and construction documents.
• Manage bridge planning, design, construction engineering, and rehabilitation projects.
• Oversee structural analysis and design calculations per codes.
• Provide quality control on engineering deliverables.
• Deliver bridge load rating analyses and retrofit recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team growth.
• Engage in client relations and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Support business development with proposals and client presentations.
