Job summary
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer – Bridge to lead and elevate the Bridge Department from our Wall Township, NJ headquarters. You will guide complex bridge design, rehabilitation, and transportation projects across New Jersey and the region, mentoring engineers and shaping technical standards.
The role offers strategic leadership opportunities, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and close interaction with clients and agencies to advance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; NJ/NY/PA PE preferred or reciprocity.
- 15+ years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for complex bridge design, rehabilitation, and transportation projects.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for bridge teams and project delivery strategies.
- Lead QA/QC reviews of plans, calculations, and design documentation.
- Oversee analysis and design per AASHTO LRFD and NJDOT standards.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support business development and client engagement activities.
