Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a senior CAD lead for bridge and transportation projects in a hybrid role based in Issaquah/Seattle, WA. You will own drawing production, lead CAD teams, and ensure standards and QA across multiple projects.

Requires 10+ years in civil/structural drafting, proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and familiarity with WSDOT guidelines. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CAD/Drafting or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in civil/structural drafting for bridges and transportation.
• Experience leading or coordinating CAD production teams and QA processes.
• Familiarity with WSDOT and Washington State drafting practices preferred.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Own structural drawing production for bridge and transportation projects from setup to final delivery.
• Manage drawing production based on engineer markups and project standards; resolve issues.
• Lead CAD production with resource planning and workload management across projects.
• Develop and maintain CAD drawings/models using Civil 3D or MicroStation (preferred).
• Produce accurate plans and details from sketches and design notes.
• Establish and improve CAD standards, templates, and libraries.
• Coordinate CAD production with engineers, PMs, other disciplines, and external consultants.
• Perform and coordinate quality reviews of CAD drawings and models.
• Track design decisions and project records throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor and train CAD staff and oversee final archiving of deliverables.
