Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced CAD designer/drafter and CAD Manager to support our bridge and transportation structures practice in the Pacific Northwest. You will lead CAD production, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality delivery from initial setup through final delivery.

Working with structural engineers and PMs, you will organize drawing packages, develop construction details, maintain standards, and meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in CAD/Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in civil or structural engineering drafting, with emphasis on bridges and transportation structures.
• Experience leading or coordinating CAD production teams and managing drawing standards.
• Familiarity with WSDOT and WA local agencies' guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of structural drawing production for bridge and transportation structure projects, coordinating sheets and revisions.
• Independently manage drawing production based on engineering markups and project standards.
• Lead and coordinate CAD production across projects, including resource planning.
• Develop, review, and maintain structural design drawings and CAD models using Civil 3D or MicroStation (preferred).
• Prepare accurate plans and details from sketches and notes provided by engineers.
• Establish and improve CAD standards, templates, libraries, and workflows.
• Coordinate CAD production with engineers, PMs, and external consultants.
• Perform and coordinate quality reviews of CAD drawings and models.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation and project records.
