Job description

Daylight is building a decentralized electric utility. We're building technology that enables homes to generate, store, and share energy with their neighbors, turning passive consumers into active participants in a smarter, more sustainable grid.

Our team brings together energy and crypto veterans who believe in a future where communities power themselves. Backed by a16z, Framework, and other industry-leading investors, we're building the infrastructure to make that vision a reality. Learn more at www.godaylight.com

The Role

As Staff Creative Designer at Daylight, you'll be the visual architect behind our brand presence, shaping how we communicate our approach to decentralizing energy. You'll establish the visual language that helps users understand complex energy and crypto concepts through intuitive, engaging designs that educate, inspire, and drive action.

You'll bring static designs to life through sophisticated motion graphics and animations that explain our protocol, demonstrate energy flows, and visualize the benefits of participating in our network. Your work will span product interfaces, marketing materials, educational content, and brand assets—creating a cohesive experience across all touchpoints.

This role is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives at the intersection of brand, product, and visual storytelling. You'll need to balance creative excellence with practical execution, often taking projects from concept sketches to polished deliverables on tight timelines. As a core member of our team, you'll not only produce high-quality design work but also influence our creative direction, mentor junior designers as we grow, and establish processes that scale. Your sophisticated visual approach will help us stand apart in both energy and crypto spaces, making complex technology accessible and appealing to mainstream audiences.

This role is in-person in our New York City office.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute visually compelling designs across both static and dynamic formats while adhering to Daylight’s brand standards.
  • Create high-impact motion graphics using Adobe After Effects, Blender, and other complementary tools, including 3D animation software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex ideas into engaging visual assets.
  • Oversee projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with our brand standards and creative vision.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine design processes, tools, and best practices to support evolving creative needs.

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
