Job summary

Akebono Brake Corporation seeks an engineer to test, develop, and validate brake component designs and applications. The role involves planning and executing tests, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.

Responsibilities include CAD-based fixture drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) with GD&T, leading technicians, and implementing test improvements. Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in brake design/testing required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and at least four years of related experience to foundation brake design or testing.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering (M.S.) will receive higher consideration.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes and reports on experimental and validation tests on brake products.
• Plans and analyzes dimensional measurement of brake components.
• Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions when performance is non-compliant using Six Sigma, Shainin, or similar tools.
• Works with design engineer and project manager to ensure product compliance with customer specifications and timing.
• Designs and writes test procedures.
• Leads technicians in test and measurement procedures.
