Job summary

City of Norfolk seeks an innovative professional to supervise and instruct the Team Norfolk amateur boxing program at the Norfolk Boxing Center. The role involves designing boxing fitness classes for facility members and coordinating activities in a state-of-the-art 13,000 sq ft facility with two regulation rings at Harbor Park.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, three years in boxing coaching, supervisory experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Three years experience preferred in coaching boxing or related sports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates training and instruction of boxing participants.
  • Organizes boxing team practices and workouts.
  • Monitors safety and enforces rules at the boxing facility.
  • Administers First Aid and escalates EMS when needed.
  • Instructs and supervises the Team Norfolk Amateur boxing program.
  • Oversees facility scheduling, budget monitoring, and staff supervision.
  • Communicates with participants and public to address inquiries.
