Job summary

Heard, McElroy & Vestal, LLC CPA is seeking a meticulous bookkeeper to handle full-charge duties for Accounting Services clients. You will prepare financial statements, manage payroll, and keep AP/AR ledgers accurate while communicating with clients to ensure smooth service delivery.

The role includes training staff, traveling to client offices when needed, and staying organized to meet deadlines. Associate degree in business and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, including payroll.
• Proficient in Accounting CS, QuickBooks and Excel.
• Strong communication with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist clerks and staff accountants.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Communicate with clients regarding Accounting Services.
• Process payrolls and related payroll taxes, including returns.
• Prepare sales tax returns and remit payments.
• Maintain AP/AR ledgers and reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• Prepare year-end forms (W-2s, 1099s).
• Travel to client offices and train client bookkeepers as needed.
• Seasonal overtime may be required.
