Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to specialize in the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of steam-generating boilers and boiler tube systems.

The role requires hands-on welding, high-pressure boiler work, and interpreting complex drawings to ensure safe plant operations. Responsibilities include assembling and repairing boilers, inspecting systems, performing hydrostatic tests, and collaborating with engineers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with steam-generating boilers and pressure vessels.
• Strong knowledge of boiler tube installation, rolling, expanding, and welding techniques.
• Familiarity with ASME codes, standards, and power plant safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in hot environments.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work long shifts if required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair steam-generating boilers and related equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manuals.
• Lay out, align, and secure components prior to assembly.
• Cut and fit metal components to construct boiler tubes, drums, and headers.
• Perform tube removal and replacement and use welding equipment for fabrication and repair.
• Maintain records of inspections and work performed.
• Inspect boiler systems for defects and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform hydrostatic and pressure testing on systems.
