Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer Generation (Boiler) or Senior Generation Equipment Specialist to lead critical boiler and turbine related projects. You will oversee complex repairs, manage contractors, and ensure safety and compliance across coded welding and piping efforts.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering with substantial experience and a proven ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accreditation body.
• 7 years of related experience for Boiler track; 10 years for Gear/Equipment Specialist.
• Experience with vendors and contractors to deliver goods/services.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs work on complex assignments requiring in-depth analysis.
• Identify problems and propose safety improvements.
• Develop cost‑effective, technically sound solutions and present alternatives.
• Lead project management efforts and coordinate with maintenance and operations teams.
• Manage project budgets, including accruals and reporting.
• Support facility outages and engage cross‑functional stakeholders.
