Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer Generation (Boiler) or Senior Generation Equipment Specialist to oversee maintenance and enhancement of coal boiler systems within a combined cycle facility. You will manage complex repairs, coordinate inspections, and ensure coded welding compliance while leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering accredited by EAC (ABET).
• 7 years of related experience for Sr. Engineer Generation (Boiler).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred for Senior Generation Equipment Specialist.
• Proven experience with vendors/contractors to deliver goods/services.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex assignments requiring in-depth analysis to determine solutions.
• Identify problems and safety recommendations to maintain safe operations.
• Coordinate boiler/turbine maintenance planning and contractor activities.
• Develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions with cross-functional input.
• Prepare detailed technical studies and project documentation for reference.
• Support facility outages and manage project budgets and accruals.
