Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer — Generation (Boiler) or Senior Generation Equipment Specialist to maintain and enhance coal boiler systems in a combined cycle facility. You will oversee complex repairs, manage contractors, and ensure compliance with coded pressure welding standards, contributing to safe, efficient power generation.

You will work with maintenance and operations teams and have opportunities to lead outages, plan tube reduction programs, and coordinate inspections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering accredited program.
• 7 years of related experience for Boiler path; 10 years for Equipment Specialist path.
• Strong project management and vendor coordination skills.
• Experience with safety standards and welding/codes.
• Proficient in documenting technical analyses and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex boiler and generation projects with cross-functional teams.
• Manage contractors, budgets, and scheduling for outages and repairs.
• Develop cost-effective, technically sound recommendations.
• Prepare technical studies and project documentation for stakeholders.
• Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with standards.
