Job summary

Alliant Energy seeks a Senior Engineer — Generation (Boiler) or Sr Generation Equipment Specialist to maintain and enhance coal boiler performance within a combined cycle facility. You will lead complex repairs, manage contractors, and ensure safety and compliance for coded pressure welding, boiler tube reductions, inspections, and energy piping repairs.

This role partners with maintenance and operations, requires strong project management, and offers opportunities to influence design and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree within an engineering program accredited through the Engineering Accreditation Commission.
• 7 years of related experience for Sr. Engineer Generation (Boiler).
• 10 years related to Steam Turbine, CT, Boiler, HRSG or Generator maintenance for Senior Generation Equipment Specialist.
• Proven experience working with vendors and contractors.

• Performs complex assignments with in-depth analysis to determine solutions.
• Identifies problems and safety improvements to maintain a safe work environment.
• Proactively analyzes problems and recommends customer-focused solutions with minimal guidance.
• Solves problems by leveraging experience and existing procedures and resources.
• Develops cost-effective, technically sound recommendations and documents studies.
• Presents alternatives to influence customer decisions and manages project budgets.
• Supports facility outages and coordinates inspections and repairs with contractors.
• Mentors less experienced staff and builds credibility with stakeholders.
