Penske is seeking a Body Shop Technician to diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, with supervised exposure to suspension, electrical, painting and welding. Join a team with in-house training and access to advanced technology, including I-CAR Gold certification. Shift includes evenings; strong safety and attendance are expected.

As part of Penske’s body shop, you’ll contribute to high-quality vehicle restorations and have opportunities for growth across locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Specialized training and experience in repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer required
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required
• Basic computer skills required
• The associate will be required to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
• The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies; including tool selection, PPE, machine guarding, and safety practices
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function
• Driver qualification file and DOT requirements apply; CDL holders will have DOT Drug Screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
• Willingness to travel, work the required schedule, and pass background/drug screening are required

Responsabilités

• Penske's Body Shop Technicians repair and maintain trucks and trailers; duties include overhauls, adjustments, replacements, and repairs such as Cab/Sheet Metal, Fiberglass, Welding/Fabricating, Frame alignment, Suspension, Electrical/Brake/Cooling, Paint/mixing/tinting and surface prep
• Identify parts required for repair of disassembled units
• Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orders
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles when necessary
• Work with little or no supervision and complete tasks efficiently
• Other projects as assigned by supervisor
