Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Body Shop Technician in Oklahoma City to perform diagnostic procedures and truck/trailer collision repairs, with supervision on major suspension, electrical, painting and welding tasks. Work with advanced diagnostic equipment to keep vehicles in top condition.

Applicants should have 6 years of practical experience, a high school diploma, and proficiency with welding, paint, and shop tools. DOT/OSHA safety compliance is required.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience or equivalent education/experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical training preferred.
• Specialized training in repair/refinish of trucks and trailers.
• Proficiency with welding, painting, shop equipment and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Follow DOT, OSHA and Penske safety policies.
• Regular, predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of trucks and trailers including cab/sheet metal, fiberglass, welding, frame alignment, suspension, and paint.
• Identify parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of truck collision repairs.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and safety compliance.
• Road test vehicles when necessary.
• Work with minimal supervision and complete tasks timely.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Major Responsibilities

• Penske's Body Shop Technicians are responsible for all aspects of truck and trailer repair and maintenance. Duties may include the overhaul, adjustment, replacement and repair of all series of motor truck and trailer equipment including, but not limited to the following: Cab/ Sheet Metal Repair, Fiberglass Repair, Composite Bonding/ Repair, Welding/ Fabricating, Frame Straightening/ Alignment, Suspension Repair/ Alignment, Box Repair/ Replacement, Air Conditioning Systems, Electrical/ Brake/Cooling Systems, Surface Preparation, and Paint/ Mixing/ Tinting/ Blending.
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled truck and trailer units.
• Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair services.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Maintain work area appearance and safety.
• Road test vehicles when necessary.
• Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer required.
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required.Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management.
• Must perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Regulated by DOT; requires maintaining a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR check, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History, drug screening; CDL holders subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work required schedule, location, complete Penske employment application, background investigation, and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

• Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, sit for extended periods.
• Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls.
• Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
• Work safely in all weather conditions.
• See and hear to navigate when large trucks present.
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Must push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
