Job summary

Magna Steyr in the United States is seeking a Senior Design & Release Engineer to lead the design, release, validation, and launch support for Body in White structures and vehicle integration components. You will own assigned systems from concept through prototype builds to production release, coordinating with PM, CATIA, CAE, PLM, manufacturing, and suppliers.

The role requires deep BODY EXTERIOR engineering knowledge, cross-functional teamwork, and a track record of delivering robust solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; master's preferred.
10+ years in automotive body engineering, BODY EXTERIOR development, vehicle integration, or related product development.
Experience designing, validating, and releasing mechanical/structural components and assemblies.
Experience with complete vehicle development, prototype builds, production launch, and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead design, release, validation, and launch support for Body in White structures and vehicle integration components.
Own systems from concept through prototype builds to production release and launch readiness.
Create, review and release CATIA models, drawings, specs, tolerance analyses, and documentation.
Manage BOMs, ECN/ECR changes, and release data packages in PLM; lead release readiness reviews.
