Job summary

Dorleco in Novi, Michigan is seeking a Sr. Body Controls Module Design Release Engineer to own electrical hardware design of body electronics modules from concept through testing and production release for OEM all-electric pickups and rugged SUVs.

You will collaborate in a diverse high-performance team, perform virtual and physical verification, participate in DFMEA and ISO 26262, ensure safety compliance, and drive supplier coordination to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, or combined electrical/mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
• 15+ years of experience in body electrical and/or electromechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
• Body control module (door module, lighting module, windows module, seating control module, overheads console module, sunroof/moonroof control module)
• Strong technical skills and expertise in body control systems, employing a six sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the electrical hardware design of all body electronics modules, sensors, and actuators under your span of control.
• Cover from clean sheet through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for OEM all-electric pickups and rugged SUVs.
• Be part of a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
• Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
• Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262, Worst Case Circuit Analysis and related activities to meet high engineering standards.
• Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
• Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
• Contribute to the design of production facilities for OEM trucks & SUVs.
• Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver components and systems that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
