Job summary

Dorleco in Novi, MI seeks a Senior Engineer to own design, development, and launch of electrical switches for vehicle platforms. You will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, design, purchasing, and manufacturing to deliver switch modules from concept to production.

The role requires 15+ years in automotive electromechanical components, strong expertise in HMI, switch design, and Six Sigma, with proficiency in CAE tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of automotive experience in electromechanical components with focus on switch design.
• Experience across full product development cycle from concept to production.
• Knowledge of HMI systems, switches, Six Sigma, and design verification/validation.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics, DTCs, and switch fault management.
• Familiarity with CAE tools.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, release, validation, and launch of electrical switches.
• Lead switch development from concept through production for rugged programs.
• Develop specs and support sourcing with Studio, Concept, Purchasing, and Finance.
• Manage suppliers to meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Define and execute design verification plans with suppliers.
• Lead virtual and physical testing and issue resolution through milestones.
• Define interfaces with vehicle EE architecture, power, grounding, diagnostics.
• Collaborate with software and systems on switch functionality and fault handling.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement based on customer feedback.
• Mentor team members and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• All other duties as assigned
