Job summary
Lyten seeks a Staff Battery Management System (BMS) Engineer to design, implement, and test BMS software for lithium-sulfur battery packs. You’ll refine state estimation algorithms and embedded controls, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor a junior BMS software engineer.
You will work across hardware and software, lead integration with battery packs, and contribute to technical reviews while documenting your work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
- 7 years of experience in battery management system engineering (5 years with Master’s/3 years with PhD)
- Experience developing BMS software and state estimation algorithms
- Experience with BMS hardware and battery modeling in Simulink, MIL, and HIL testing
- Familiarity with cell balancing, protection, and battery controls
Responsibilities
- Develop SOC, SOH, and SOP algorithms for lithium sulfur batteries
- Maintain embedded governing software for BMS controllers
- Lead integration of BMS hardware and software with packs
- Test and validate BMS systems with lithium sulfur packs
- Collaborate across teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Write and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in technical reviews and guide future BMS development
- Mentor a junior BMS software engineer
