Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical seeks a Senior BMS Design Engineer to design and develop BMS and EPMS for mission critical facilities. You will craft control sequences, define integration with PLCs and other systems, and develop detailed design documents to ensure reliability and redundancy across projects.

The role requires extensive building automation experience, strong HVAC understanding, and coordination with clients and engineers. Hybrid work is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in building automation or HVAC controls design, preferably in mission critical environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC operation and control logic.
• Knowledge of control communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with Division 23, 25 and 26 specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems including distribution equipment, generators, UPS, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed control system design documents, including sequences of operation and diagrams.
• Create BMS specifications for projects.
• Define integration strategies between BMS, PLCs, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Specify control panel requirements, I/O and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with engineers to align system logic with owner requirements.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, sequences, and integration details.
• Perform site visits to gather system information and verify conditions.
